Research project: Integrating fish parasite monitoring with stakeholder needs: towards a renewed health information system for sustainable aquaculture development in Africa

I am currently working on how information about fish parasites can be valuable to people involved in aquaculture. My work focuses on Nile tilapia in the Upper Tana River region, Kenya, where I collected fish samples to document parasite diversity and examine pathological effects. Alongside this,  I engaged with farmers, fisheries officers and other stakeholders to understand how they perceive and respond to parasitic infections. By linking ecological data with human perspectives, my research explores parasites as indicators of a healthy socio-ecological system.

My favorite quote: “Just do it.”
